Title: The Warmth of Morning

Location: Quiraing, Isle of Skye (Scotland)
Description: I remember arriving to this location at 4am for sunrise, with a plan in my head for a completely different photo facing a different direction from this spot... but the weather, light and a few other aspects didn't quite line up for how I had hoped. Instead of being disappointed, I simply turned around and found a completely unexpected new scene: what I had previously deemed as uninteresting (we were scouting here the day before) was completely transformed with the golden morning light, and suddenly I was flooded with fresh spontaneous inspiration! Which is generally how most of my images are made - 90% of my work is completely spontaneous when faced with what's directly in front of me. This image is now a reminder to me to not hold on so tightly to the ideas of what I want to create - but to embrace what's given to me in each moment and let the flow take me to places I never expected. And sometimes, that just means looking over my shoulder... because you never know what you might miss!
