Location: Fanal Forest, Madeira (Portugal)
Description: A self portrait taken in an extremely special place that deeply captured my heart; a location often classified as the "Reserve of Rest and Silence" by the Madeira Natural Park. While wandering among these 600 year old trees for the month, I constantly felt drawn to just sit and rest under them... to simply observe their old, silent energy as the birds sung their songs and the cows grazed nearby. It is a very peaceful and rejuvenating place that deserves to not be rushed through, but to take in slowly, and to really "feel" the energy of these ancients. A true refresher for the soul.
