An image that had been in my head for a long time, and finally came to fruition when the right conditions aligned on this day while hiking high up in the mountains at the end of summer.
My idea was to capture an image depicting courage, bravery, and journeying into the unknown... more specifically, I wanted to capture a self portrait on top of a mountain in the Canadian Rockies, overlooking an apocalyptic landscape (made more apocalyptic with nearby forest fire smoke combined with incoming storm clouds as the sun began to set)... and I wanted to wear a timeless red dress and carry a walking stick to add to the element of adventure. And also because walking sticks are awesome. And I secretly just want to live life as if I'm a character in Lord of the Rings.
This image now reminds me to bravely face what's coming with wild courage... and to see the beauty in the journey.
