Location: Angel Glacier, Jasper (Alberta, Canada)
Description: A self portrait taken in the Canadian Rockies during a 4-week solo road-trip full of camping and exploring. This was one of the first places I stumbled upon during that adventure... My trips are usually remarkably unplanned, and I wouldn't have it any other way - this day I woke up in the back of my car, saw some moody weather happening on the mountains in the distance, and decided to follow it. I found myself wandering up a trail I never knew existed, which led me above the treeline where it began to snow and the ground was absolutely covered in the most beautiful red, orange and yellow foliage. I spent a few hours in perfect quiet solitude up there, just admiring the colours and watching the snow flakes falling as the fog rolled in and out across the glacier in the distance. I ended up taking this self portrait to remember the day by - a day of quiet reflection, going inward and feeling cradled in the mountains that bring me peace like nothing else. ♥
